Two books “On My Desk”

Two books I am planning on reading, one I just received is:  Michael and Christ: Michael Traditions and Angel Christology in Early Christianity, by Darrell D. Hannah and the other is a new one that just came out: Friends of The Law, Luther’s Use of the Law for the Christian Life, by Edward A. Engelbrecht.  I should have a review soon.

  1. The one on Michael & Christ sounds very interesting. I’ll have to look for it when I get a chance. My late pastor, Fr. Stephen Wiest, deals with much patristic material on this in his dissertation, “Stephen and the Angel: A Typological Reading of the Story of Stephen in the Acts of the Apostles.” I think you would enjoy reading it.

  2. I don’t know. I got one from Fr. Wiest so I could do a read-through for him. Every subsequent reading has been just as edifying. I might be able to send you a copy, however. Please send me your address. You can do so via facebook email if you like.
